Using CPD Online

Step 1 - Activate your account

Before you can use the system, you will need to activate your account. Please note that this system is the same as the one that is used to renew your registration, therefore you may have already activated your account if you have renewed.

You only need to activate your account once and when this has been done you will then be able to access the system via the main URL link.

The system is secure and uses a two-factor authentication linked to a phone number (mobile or landline) to log in.

Step 2 - Log in to the system and submit a profile

Once you have activated your account, you can then log in to the system to submit your profile.

Make sure you have activated your account beforehand

As part of the CPD process, you are required to submit the following information as part of your profile:

  1. Summary of recent work / practice (maximum 500 words)
  2. List of activities (to aim for around between 12 and 50 activities)
  3. Personal statement (maximum 1,500 words)
  4. Any supporting evidence to might need to upload

Please note that you can save your progress and come back to where you left off at a later date.

Frequently asked questions

  • You will only be able to login to the system, if you have activated your account first. You only need to activate your account once. 

    See here for more information on activating your account. 

  • Please note that this system only allows you to record and submit your CPD profile. You will still need to renew your registration separately.

    Registrants must renew their HCPC registration every two years and each profession has fixed renewal dates.

    Each time a profession renews its registration registrants are asked to sign a form to confirm that they continue to meet the HCPC's standards, including those for CPD.

  • No. You can save your progress and logout of the system and when you log back in, the work you have saved will still be there.

    You can also complete the profile in any order you wish. For example you may want to start with your summary or activities first.

    Make sure you have submitted your complete profile by the deadline. You will receive an acknowledgement email once you have submitted your profile. 

  • Please note that you will only be able to enter your telephone number once and this number will be used every time you log in to your account.

    To check or change your telephone number, please contact the Registration Department.

  • You will only be able to upload certain file types to the CPD Online system. See a list below of the ones that you can upload.

    Any other file types are not permitted (i.e. zip files), and you will not be able to upload these to the system.

    The maximum file size for each document upload is 25MB.

  • As long as it is only you that is using it, then yes.

    Please note that you will only be able to enter your telephone number once. This will be the number used every time you log in to your account. Therefore please ensure it is a number you have continuous access to.

    To change your telephone number, please contact the Registration Department.

  • Please contact the Registration Department to update your telephone number. This can not be done from within the system.
