Use this process to rejoin the HCPC Register if your registration lapsed less than one month ago

This process is only open to individuals who have come off the Register one month ago or less. Please follow our standard readmission process if you are not in this group.

We understand that unexpectedly coming off the Register is a distressing situation for anyone to find themselves in. This page gives more detail on why this may have happened to you, and what to do now.

Why have I been removed from the Register?

There are two parts to the renewal: the fee and the declaration. If you’ve been removed from the Register, it means we didn’t receive one (or both) of these before the window closed.

We know there can be many reasons behind this. Please be assured that we want to get you back on the Register as quickly as possible - the process is simple and straightforward.

How do I get back on the Register?

If your name is no longer appearing on the Register, and you’d like to rejoin, you’ll need to:

  1. Fill out the readmission short form
  2. Email it to shortread@hcpc-uk.org within one month of your renewal window closing
  3. Pay your registration fee
We'll email you to let you know when your details have been processed, then you'll be able to make the payment via your online account
  4. Your name will reappear on the online Register once your fee clears with your bank

We'll email you to confirm that we've processed your details, and we'll email you when you're back on the online Register.

Please note, we cannot re-add you to the Register without the readmission form. If you aren’t sure whether to send in the form, we would recommend doing so rather than waiting: we will contact you if there are aspects of the form that need to be amended.

What do I need to pay?

The registration fee for the two-year cycle is £232.72.

All readmission applicants can either pay for the two-year cycle in full, or can opt to pay the first year in full, and the second year by direct debit.

How do I pay the fee?

When we've processed your details, you'll be able to pay your fee in your online account.

We'll email you to confirm this. Please note, if you haven't logged in to your online account before, you'll need to activate your account first.

How to activate your account

What happens if I don’t apply within one month?

If you are applying to rejoin after one month, you will need to complete a more detailed readmission form and pay the £174.54 readmission fee in addition to the registration fee. The form can be found on our website along with guidance and payment information.

Making sure you receive notifications

If you have encountered issues receiving renewal notifications from us via email, you may wish to ensure that our email address (noreplyregistration@hcpc-uk.org) is in your safe senders list. This should prevent messages from going into your spam or junk folder.

You may also wish to update or change your contact details. You can do this on the second page of the readmission form.

To confirm your renewal dates in future, you can also use our website

How long will it take to get back on the Register?

Once we’ve received your readmission form and fee, we’ll process them as quickly as possible. Our service level is 10 working days for this, but it can be much quicker.

Can I still work?

In order to practice under one of our protected titles in the UK, you are legally required to be on the Register. However, providing you do not practice under that title, whether or not you can undertake duties at your workplace is at your employer’s discretion. This might mean that you can carry out some duties under supervision.

Account issues

  • This can be caused by a number of factors. One or more of the changes below should resolve it.

    1. Make sure you are using the most recent temporary password you were sent. Each time a password is generated, the previous one becomes invalidated. This will mean it is rejected. If you’ve generated multiple passwords, make sure there is no chance that the correct one is still on its way.

    2. Follow the link in the activation email itself. This is a unique link with information that communicates with your account settings. You won’t be able to activate your account wihtout clicking it.

    3. Open the activation link using a browser that is not Google Chrome. To do this, right click the link (or tap and hold) and select ‘Copy link address’. Then paste it into a new browser.

    4. Go to the activation page (hcpc-uk.org/activate), enter the same email address and use the ‘Change email and activate’ button.

    5. Go to the activation page (hcpc-uk.org/activate), enter a new email address and use the ‘Change email and activate’ button.

You can do this under ‘My Details’.

  • Payment processing times are determined by your bank, and can take up to 3 working days to be received by our system. The processing time depends on your bank, the type of transaction and whether service is affected by a weekend or bank holiday.
