Fitness to Practise Data Supplementary Analysis 2023-24

Our Fitness to Practise Annual Report published in October 2024 provided some analysis of our data in order to inform stakeholders and the public about this part of our work.

Further analyses of our data are included in this new report and are in two sections.

  • Section 1 highlights the differences in rates of concerns reported to us across several areas including registration route, profession, and protected characteristic.
  • Section 2 relates to concerns at different decision points in the Fitness to Practise process.

The data set for each section is different and no direct correlation between section 1 results and section 2 results can be made. Section 2 data relate to decisions made during the 2023/24 financial year, rather than the outcomes of the concerns received in section 1. This is because some of the concerns in section 2, particularly those with Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service decisions, will have been received before 2023/24.
