Physiotherapists: how to rejoin the Register if you’ve been removed

05 Mai 2022

The renewal window for physiotherapists closed on 30 April 2022. In the following days, some have checked the Register and found that they have been removed.

Update: 1 June 2022
The short readmisson process is no longer available for physiotherapists
Click here follow our standard readmission process to rejoin the Register

We understand this is a distressing situation for anyone to find themselves in. Please don’t worry - we want to get you back on the Register as soon as possible and we’re working hard to make that happen.

Readmission is our quickest process. There’s just one short form to fill in and your normal registration fee to pay. Once that’s done, you’ll be back on.

This page gives more detail on why this may have happened to you, and what to do now.

Why have I been removed from the Register?

We invited members of the physiotherapist profession to renew their registration between 1 February 2022 and 30 April 2022.

There are two parts to the renewal: the fee and the declaration. If you’ve been removed from the Register, it means we didn’t receive one (or both) of these before the window closed.

We know there can be many reasons behind this. Please be assured that we want to get you back on the Register as quickly as possible - the process is simple and straightforward.

How do I get back on the Register?

If your name is no longer appearing on the Register, and you’d like to rejoin, you’ll need to do is:

  1. Fill out the readmission short form
  2. Email it to shortread@hcpc-uk.org by 30 May 2022
  3. Pay your registration fee
We'll email you to let you know when your details have been processed, then you'll be able to make the payment via your online account
  4. Your name will reappear on the online Register once your fee clears with your bank

We'll email you to confirm that we've processed your details, and we'll email you when you're back on the online Register.

Please note, we cannot re-add you to the Register without the readmission form. If you aren’t sure whether to send in the form, we would recommend doing so rather than waiting: we will contact you if there are aspects of the form that need to be amended.

What do I need to pay?

The registration fee for the two-year cycle is £196.24. All readmission applicants will need to pay this fee.

How do I pay the fee?

When we've processed your details, you'll be able to pay your fee in your online account.

We'll email you to confirm that your details have been processed. The email will contain a link taking you to your online account.

Please note, if you haven't logged in to your online account before, you'll need to activate your account first.

How to activate your account

What happens if I don’t apply by 30 May 2022?

If you are applying to rejoin after 30 May 2022, you will need to complete a more detailed readmission form and pay the £147.18 readmission fee in addition to the registration fee. This can be found on our website along with guidance and payment information.

Making sure you receive notifications

If you have encountered issues receiving renewal notifications from us, you may wish to ensure that our email address (noreplyregistration@hcpc-uk.org) is in your safe senders list. This should prevent messages from going into your spam or junk folder.

You may also wish to update or change your contact details. You can do this on the second page of the readmission form.

To confirm your renewal dates in future, you can also use our website

How long will it take to get back on the Register?

Once we’ve received your readmission form and fee, we’ll process them as quickly as possible. Our service level is 10 working days for this, but it can be much quicker.

Can I still work?

In order to practice under one of our protected titles in the UK, you are legally required to be on the Register. However, providing you do not practice under that title, whether or not you can undertake duties at your workplace is at your employer’s discretion. This might mean that you can carry out some duties under supervision.
