With various initiatives across the four UK nations, we have seen (and expect to see further) increases in the total number of learners within professions, nations, and regions. We have noted an impact on practice-based learning, education provider resources, and innovations in delivery models due to these initiatives.

Safeguarding Policy

Our role in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. The purpose of the safeguarding policy is to outline our safeguarding responsibilities, so that our staff and partners are aware of their safeguarding obligations, and to ensure that any safeguarding concerns are dealt with and escalated appropriately.

Standards of education and training: pre-consultation workshop (students)

We’re currently reviewing the standards of education and training to make sure they're up-to-date. We invite all patients, service users, patient groups and representatives to an online workshop to share their thoughts, needs and experiences.

Equality monitoring – help us to improve our services for everyone

We will be asking you to ask you to complete an equality monitoring form to help us make sure our services are accessible to everyone

Professional Liaison Service

The HCPC Professional Liaison Service was established in 2020 following a decision to invest in more upstream regulation. Upstream regulation describes an approach to regulation that is focussed on prevention, partnership and support.

Applicants with convictions

How to consider applicants with convictions or cautions and make decisions regarding their suitability for registration and ability to provide a professional service for the public. 

Registrants and representative organisations

Communicating with our registrants is essential to the work that we do. It is important that registrants are kept up to date with developments that affect their professional registration
