Our requirements if you are returning to practice

Our return to practice requirements are flexible, minimum requirements. They aim to protect the public by making sure you have up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Registrants and representative organisations

Communicating with our registrants is essential to the work that we do. It is important that registrants are kept up to date with developments that affect their professional registration

Declaration

You’ll be asked to sign a declaration regarding background checks to enable us to check that they are genuine with the organisations or individuals who provided them

Our EDI strategy sets out how the HCPC intends to achieve our overarching vision of an actively anti-discriminatory organisation, and is supported by an EDI action plan

Employers

Employers, including those who manage, supervise or lead the work of HCPC registered professionals, play a key role providing a number of functions, including checking their employees’ registration

Case studies of fitness to practise concerns

Our case studies illustrate the types of issues that are taken into consideration by a panel when deciding if a registrant’s fitness to practise is impaired

Visitors will need to provide pre-visit feedback

Under our revised approval process, visitors will be required to provide feedback in a structured way, noting broad areas of concern, within two weeks of receiving the documentary submission
