Employers

Employers, including those who manage, supervise or lead the work of HCPC registered professionals, play a key role providing a number of functions, including checking their employees’ registration

Service user involvement in the design and delivery of education and training programmes leading to registration with the Health Professions Council

This research aims to examine available evidence regarding the use and impact of service user feedback tools in healthcare, and explore the views of people within relevant professional bodies.

Our priority is ensuring that registrants have access to advice and support, so that they can get the help they need and ensure they are able to continue to practise safely, without fear of the impact on their registration. To support this, we have produced online materials aimed at registrants and updated our guidance on health and character to include more illustrative case studies.

Changing profile of education provision

The profile of education and training is changing, with a wider variety of pre-registration education and training programmes approved by HCPC. This includes a broader range of qualification levels, and a significant increase in the number of apprenticeship programmes in England.

Preparation for practice: The role of the HCPC's standards of education and training in ensuring that newly qualified professionals are fit to practise

The overall aim of this project is to explore ‘preparation for practice’ of newly qualified professionals who have completed pre-registration education and training programmes approved by the HCPC. Evidence gained from this project will inform and assist the HCPC in decision-making regarding the SETs (and supporting guidance) required when preparing newly qualified professionals to be fit to practise.
