Our registrants need to renew their registration every two years, and if they don't they may be removed from the Register

Professional Liaison Service

The HCPC Professional Liaison Service was established in 2020 following a decision to invest in more upstream regulation. Upstream regulation describes an approach to regulation that is focussed on prevention, partnership and support.

Disclosing information with consent

In most cases, you will need to make sure you have consent from the service user before you disclose or share any identifiable information

Developing resilience as a student

Resilience is our capacity to recover quickly from difficulties and to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances

Professional bodies

These organisations do work which may include promoting the profession, representing members, curriculum frameworks, post registration education and training and continuing professional development.

New threshold for paramedic registration

In 2018, we raised the level of qualification for paramedics’ registration. Previously paramedics needed to achieve ‘Equivalent to Certificate of Higher Education’ to become registered. Currently they need to achieve ’Bachelor degree with honours’.

UK-wide Professional Liaison Service

The Professional Liaison Service now operates with a Consultant in each of the four UK nations, who can design and deliver solutions that are specific to registrant and employer needs.
